In 2008, Tina Roth Eisenberg at Swissmiss started CreativeMornings from a desire to create an ongoing and accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning every month. Each event would be free of charge and open to anyone. At the moment there are about 163 chapters (cities) where CreativeMornings is held.
Since 2015, I have been the graphic designer at CreativeMornings Utrecht, the Netherlands.
To increase the CreativeMornings Utrecht brand awareness, the hosts asked me to design two free give-aways, a postcard and a totebag.
Postcard: The goal was to share an impression of the event and give exposure to the Utrecht chapter logo. After brainstorming the meaning of breakfast, I conceptualized that while you get a free breakfast, you gain inspiration from the talks. I visualized this by sketching the outer city skyline.
Totebag: The message was “Everybody is a creative”. After experimenting with my own typography I chose to use an extra bold typeface for visibility. As a symbolic detail, I designed a globe filled with people, which can be seen from nearby.
A total of X postcards and X totebags have been produced and distributed during CreativeMornings Utrecht events. The hosts described our collaboration as: ‘XXXX‘ (quote), (name and role)
