The Municipality of Utrecht has 338,000 inhabitants and is the 4th biggest city in The Netherlands. I’ve called it my hometown since 1998. The city council is organised into five units units: Management, Development, Implementation, Towns and Auditors. The top-level brand values, Bright, Inspiring, Welcoming and Connecting, are derived from the story of Utrecht and reflect the feeling of cohesion for its citizens and visitors.
DDK won the framework agreement to design internal and external marketing material from 2013 to 2016. Project Heat Scan encouraged citizens to take energy-saving measures and to monitor their energy consumption by attending information events. Other key projects promoted Utrecht as the cycling city of the Netherlands and informed inhabitants on how to protect their homes from criminals.
From March 2013 to March 2016 I was part of the design team serving the Municipality of Utrecht. My scope of work included Internal Business, City Business, Work & Income, Public Affairs, Social Development, Council and Security department. I was solely responsible for the corporate identity of The Municipality of Utrecht and designed several Campaigns related to it.
During 3 years of collaboration, I designed about 300 print and digital products in English and Dutch. The materials ranged from advertisements, posters, flyers, interactive pdf’s, websites, infographics and booklets. The residents of Utrecht were informed about the running affairs of the city in a clear and straightforward manner.
