Ordina is the largest independent ICT service provider in the Benelux countries and has approximately 2,700 employees. They design, build and manage ICT applications used by governments, financial services, industrial and healthcare organisations. Ordina improves work processes for users and pays attention to a conscious use of resources, including sustainable innovations for their customers.
In order to increase their employee’s knowledge and engagement, Ordina developed a printed magazine in Dutch. The new magazine included interviews, tips and opinions, accompanied by relevant photos and clarified with infographics. The goal was to inform Ordina employees about the use of IT resources, as well as applications and risks.
In addition to setting up the magazine concept, design and layout, DDK developed the magazine format including its name, ‘Ordina Security Alert’. In close collaboration with the editorial team, photographers at Ordina and my art director, I researched a suitable style, designed and developed a pleasant and interesting page rhythm. I proactively chose the right communication tools and paired them with a fresh and friendly tone. For instance, a pop art styled infographic about the importance of backing-up work.
In 2017, 3,700 copies were distributed among all Ordina employees, customers as well as visitors at the Security Exhibition. As the response to the magazine was very positive, Ordina decided to publish new editions and asked us to design a template that can be used by Ordina employees.
